Hurray for big companies… [not]

Don’t you just love big companies like ISPs or phone companies? I just called Ya.com ( my Orange-owned ISP here in Spain) to notify them of a problem with their billing system (java servlet errror for an invoice payment option). Called their Billing Department (oh, naive me), thinking they could notify their IT people about the error. Well, no, the lady on the line first checked all my data (ALL) then told me that’s the tech department’s thing and she couldn’t transfer me. Ok, I hung up and called the same number and chose option 2 (Tech Support).

They guy there asked for all of my data again (ALL) then put me on hold after I had explained the issue, got back after 30 seconds and told me that’s the Sales Department’s thing (?!?) and said he couldn’t transfer me to them, so I should just hung up, call the same number and choose option 2. I told him option 2 was Tech Support cause that’s what I pressed to get to him. Nope, the guy was completely convinced that option 2 was Sales. Well, anyway, couldn’t he let the other people know there was an issue with their customer portal, which, I don’t know, could affect their credibility? Nope, he could just leave a comment/note under my file, which would end up ignored (cause I had done that a couple of months back).

OK, thanks for nothing then. And no, I’m not calling the Sales Department.
