About a month ago I bought a One Day Pass for the Valencia 2010 Campus Party event, after seeing this year’s opening conference featured none other than Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple Computers. I managed to go, after a bad week with bronchitis. I arrived just before the conference started, went in and had a really great time after listening to some amazing insight from this amazing person. Afterwards, he performed one of his signature drills (pun intended), which is signing people’s computers and gadgets. Got my laptop and iPhone signed, and even managed to make him confirm the rumors circulating that day about an update to Apple’s Mac Pro and iMac line.
I managed to film quite a bit of Steve’s interview and then later made a video tour of the party itself. An amazing sight altogether, extreme modding, geekiness to the max and loads of caffeine (the party lasts for a week). Took advantage of the incredible connection speeds to download some materials and upload the videos I did that day to Vimeo. Later that afternoon I got a call from one of the organizers asking me to take them down (I deactivated them for a few days in case they needed “exclusivity”) so now here they are.
I took a few tours of the campus dring the day, looked into some of the workshops available, thenI had dinner with a friend that stayed there for the entire week and headed back home. Great experience altogether, looking forward to next year!
